Mt. Hebron originally had a playground that was outdated and due for replacement.
The main concern being that the structure seemed too difficult and dangerous for the preschool aged children. Another glaring problem at this site was that there were no borders around the site, allowing the expensive rubber surfacing they were using to washing away. The head of the school told Eagle Play Structures that she was adding two tons every year; we were shocked!
The last major issue we wanted to tackle was the location of the playground. Between the sidewalks where the school doors let out, and the playground there was an expanse of muddy and trampled grass. We expressed to the head of the school that although there would be a little more of an investment, we could solve these issues by locating the site right off the sidewalks (using them as a border) and re-grading the area to drain appropriately. With some careful measuring, we designed an aesthetically pleasing shape around the sidewalks and incorporated an existing planting bed and bench.
The structure and additional play equipment was designed to fit the shape of the new play area footprint. Eagle Play Structures was able to maximize the space while again complementing the aesthetic of the site. The result after months of effort in planning and executing, is a beautiful site with a one of a kind structure designed specifically for the shape of the landscape. Our customer will save thousands of dollars in surfacing now that the area is contained, and there is no more muddy mess on the sidewalk and into the hallways of the school. The 2-5 year old kids that populate this day school now have equipment they can use to the fullest. We hope everyone over at Mt. Hebron is enjoying their new Eagle Play Structure!
